The Dukes struck first but not again Friday night, falling 51-7 to Patriot Athletic Conference rival Buckeye. Jon Brasee caught a 32-yard touchdown pass from Jayden Skinner to give Wellington (1-5) a 7-0 lead with just over five minutes remaining in the first quarter. Buckeye (5-1) responded quickly to the tune of three touchdowns within two minutes of game clock to take a 23-7 lead at the end of the first and added three more scores for a 44-7 halftime advantage. Wellington will travel to Firelands this Friday before returning home Oct. 12 for its homecoming game against Keystone.
