Clear choice in Wellington council race

To the editor:

While there are a limited number of choices for residents to vote on, one individual stands out — Gene Hartman.

Of the candidates running, Gene has shown himself to be prepared, knowledgeable, and ready to tackle the issues in our community.

Gene has served on council since January 2016 when he was appointed to finish the last two years of Hans Schneider’s term after he was elected mayor. During that time, Gene has immersed himself in the issues coming to council. Gene has presented his opinions in a clear, concise, and articulate manner. He has been a regular attendee of many village-related functions, including the monthly Coffee with the Mayor where he listens and discusses concerns of village residents. He has served admirably on various committees, including utilities, where he serves as the chairman; as the appointee representing council to the park planning committee; and as the village representative to the South Lorain County Ambulance District board, where his background and expertise have yielded positive results.

Having seen firsthand the work Gene has done the past two years, I am confident that our community will continue to benefit from his leadership. Please join me in supporting Gene Hartman on Nov. 7.
