Word is spreading on AARP tax prep help

To the editor:

The 2015 tax season for filing taxes is now finished for our AARP Tax Aide Program. We exceeded our expectations of assisting seniors, low to moderate income singles, and families filing their individual federal, state, and school district taxes. We see that the word is getting out that our free service is not only for seniors or AARP members but for anyone who needs assistance in completing their taxes.

This program is run in conjunction with the IRS and AARP and is operated by volunteers who gladly give of their time and talent to help people. Since this is a volunteer program, the budget we have for advertising is zero. This is where you come in. Without your willingness to assist us in advertising for new volunteers, placing the site addresses and phone numbers in your papers we could not have this service. We are so thankful to you and your generous support. Lorain County needs a program like this and you supply the information for people to use it.

Thank you for another year of helping people, sharing life with each other, and being grateful for the joy to be able to do this thanks to all of you.
