Firefighters thankful for cookoff support

To the editor:

The Wellington Firefighters Association wishes to express our sincerest thanks for the support on Oct. 31 at our annual Firefighter Chili Cookoff. To our sponsors who help make the night possible: Wellington Implement, Farmers Savings Bank, and the Wellington VFW Post. Additionally, without the help and support of Bill Schramm and the Wellington Eagles Aerie 2051 the success of the event would be much less.

To our competing teams, Fort’s Tavern, Wellington Eagles, Grafton Township FD, Rochester FD, Lorain FD, and Wakeman FD; we appreciate your support for participating each year with us.

The real heroes of the day were our judges, Wellington police chief Tim Barfield, Eagles trustee Bill Schramm, Wellington Enterprise reporter Kelsey Leyva, and State Aerie president Jim Donaldson.

The real benefactor of the event was Well-Help Inc. For over 10 years now, Well-Help Inc. has been our charity of choice. A great organization that does so much for the southern Lorain County area deserves our support and the Firefighters Association is happy to provide Well-Help with a check for $1,347 from the event.

Again, thank you to all came out to support Well-Help Inc.
