Fall classes at the Lorain County JVS Adult Career Center are set to begin Monday, Sept. 11.
The Adult Career Center offers comprehensive education and customized training programs to people entering the job market, seeking a new career, or looking to upgrade their skills.
“We train students for in-demand jobs, industry certifications, and our instructors work hard to help our students succeed in their chosen career path,” said director Kristian Smith.
Programs and services are designed to help adults obtain the confidence and skills they need to reach their career goals or just enjoy the experience of learning something new.
Smith said one in-demand career choice is the medical assisting program. Medical assisting is one of the fastest-growing health careers that JVS offers, with opportunities for advancement and a placement rate greater than 87 percent.
This fall, the JVS Adult Career Center is also offering the Ohio Adult Diploma Program.
“The Adult Diploma Program is ideal for someone who wants to earn a high school diploma, while at the same time, earn a credential to get started in his or her chosen career,” said Smith.
To participate in this free program, you must be 22 years old or over. Qualifying students will be able to choose from five approved industry credential programs offered by JVS: auto technology, emergency medical technician, phlebotomy, precision machine technology, and state tested nurse aide.
