Brighton Buckeyes busy as fair nears

The Brighton Buckeyes 4-H Club has started preparing for the Lorain County Fair. Officers were elected March 9. They are president John Dowdell, vice president Meredith Meyers, secretary Adele Dowdell, treasurer Lillian Dowdell, news reporter Heather Reininger, education officer Luke Forthofer, and recreation officer Scott Hook. Other meetings have featured speakers Elizabeth Share of the Ohio State University Extension Office; and Dean Bremke on the importance of good nutrition and tracking animals’ progress. On May 28, the group will make flower bouquets for the Memorial Day ceremony at Brighton Cemetery. Members will place the flowers by the Veterans Monument.
