The long-vacant former Ponderosa restaurant at 712 North Main St. has been ripped to the ground. On Wednesday, a crew razed the building, which had also enjoyed a brief stint as the Comfort House Buffet. The property was owned by Wellington Auto Wash Associates until last August, when it was sold for $211,000 to the Sunny Valley Land Company. The property had a total market value of $527,180, according to Lorain County auditor’s office records — but that was with the nearly 4,900-square-foot building. The land itself has a market value of $162,040.
