The Patriots Symphonic Band came to to the village July 3 and performed as residents ate free ice cream provided by Village Market and Velvet Ice Cream. Lorene Coughlin and Brian Walsh sang as conductor Harry Pfingsten led the band. An anonymous donor gave 144 flags to be passed out to the crowd. Many attendees reflected on what they’re most proud of when thinking of America on Independence Day. A majority of people said they were thankful for their freedom and for the men and women serving the country. Fireworks were lit at dusk at the Lorain County Fairgrounds.
