Valedictorian Andrew Rodriguez plans to attend Miami University in Ohio to major in biological physics.
He said his studies will take the path of pre-medicine. The major was largely inspired by his family, which has always encouraged Rodriguez to pursue the sciences.
Asked to give advice to fellow graduates and underclassmen, he said: “Do it on your own time. The end deadline is the only one you need to meet. Whatever you’re working on, do it at your own pace and do it the best you can.”
The valedictorian in a four-year honors student. For finishing at the top of the Class of 2016, he earned a $1,000 scholarship.
He graduates with a 4.5 GPA. In his time at WHS, Rodriguez served as president of the National Honor Society.
