McCormick Middle School fourth grade honors math students attended a 24 Math Tournament at Cloverleaf Recreation Center on Thursday, Jan. 21. Students chosen to participate were the top 16 in fourth grade math teacher Megan Birchfield’s classroom. They competed against four schools from Medina County. The 24 game requires students to take four numbers and make 24 using any combination of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. All math is done mentally. Students participated in three rounds of 18 minutes to determine what students would move on to the semifinals. Wellington had two students move on to the semifinals – Noah Jackson and Allie Peck.
