Agriculture in the southern part of the county will be spotlighted Saturday during the 2015 Lorain County Fall Farm Tour.

The event is a free, drive-it-yourself tour to five different farms in Pittsfield Township and Wellington .

Featured this year are the Lorain County Joint Vocational School, Sacred Dreams, Lettuce Heads Aquaponics and Farm, Mark and Joyce Ziegler’s Farm, and Ohio Grass-Fed Lamb.

The Lorain County Farm Bureau has sponsored the event for at least 25 years, said Ohio Farm Bureau Federation organization director Amanda Denes-Diedrick.

“Our mission is to forge a partnership between farmers and consumers,” she said.

Visitors will go from farm to farm learning about each and what their role is in Lorain County’s agriculture community.

Farm Credit Mid-America, the Lorain Soil and Water Conservation District, Ag Credit Country Mortgages, and the Lorain County Storm Water Management District will each have informational tables at one of the five stops.

Hearts, Homes and Hooves 4-H club will also be having a bake sale at Sacred Dreams.
