Kids of all ages stepped up to give their best effort in the kiddie pedal pull Saturday afternoon at the Lorain County Fair. More than 30 children participated in the seven- and eight-year-old category. The object of the contest was ride a miniature tractor with a weighted sled attached and to make it as far as possible. A full pull is 30 feet. The crowd went wild every time someone made it across the full-pull line. Kelby Crum, whose family provides the equipment, has been helping with kiddie pedal pulls for about 30 years. He said the sled can weigh anywhere from 120 to 150 pounds at its heaviest. For the girls’ seven- and eight-year-old division, Lilly Hricovec took first, Hannah Harper took second, and Lilly York placed third. For the boys, Cooper Fenik placed first, Jack Hricovec took second, and Will Mohler placed third.
