Police Blotter for Jan. 19

* Dec. 17, 4:57 p.m.: A woman reported she has had problems with her ex-boyfriend for the past two years. She stated that he is harassing and stalking her, sexually propositioning her and sending her text messages with pictures of his genitals. Contact was made with the man and he was informed not to have any contact by phone, letter, or through a family member or in person or charges could be pursued.

* Dec. 18, 1:44 a.m.: A woman came to the police department to file a police report. A check of her record revealed she had an active warrant through the Amherst Police Department for passing bad checks. Ronnah S. Taylor of LaGrange was transported to the Oberlin Police Department where she was picked up by the Amherst Police Department.

* Dec. 19, 6:13 p.m.: A man came to the station and said he was receiving threatening phone calls from a man who is dating his ex-wife. Officer R. Aviles met with the man and advised he could not go around threatening people and if his conduct continued he could get arrested.

* Dec. 20, 1:01 p.m.: Charles Thompson was cited for a fourth driving under suspension, and faulty exhaust. Thompson signed a personal recognizance in the amount of $1,000 and was released to await his court date.

* Dec. 21, 1:08 p.m.: Scott Plain of Wellington was served with domestic violence charges and was advised there is no bond until his court date. It was noted that Plain was located at the Lorain County Jail as he was arrested for DUI by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

* Dec. 24, 5:34 p.m.: A woman came to the station and advised she was assaulted while at a North Main Street residence. She stated she was struck in the face, pointing to her left check, and was choked. She further said the man should be arrested for assault and indicated he had an outstanding warrant. The woman advised when she arrived at the residence all occupants were smoking marijuana and drinking beer. Police went to the scene and upon entering found no smell of marijuana and a check through LEADS showed no warrant. A male advised the woman had just been released from jail that day and came to retrieve some of her items as the two used to date. Upon returning to the station officer A. Aviles advised the woman that she could not pursue charges at this time due to no marijuana, warrants, or marks indicating she was struck in the face.

The woman then claimed she was struck on the right side of her chin and not the left and also that one man tried to rape her. The woman was advised that if she continued to file false police reports she could be arrested for perjury. The woman said she is going to be the next county commissioner and the Wellington Police Department will be working for her.

* Dec. 24, 8:44 a.m.: Officer Shelton was given a credit card that was found in a front yard on East Hamilton. The card was put into evidence.

* Dec. 24, 8:51 a.m.: Chief Rollins was advised a person pumped $20.01 worth of gas and left Certified Gas without paying. A check of the license plate came back as a person residing in Lorain. A call was made but the lady on the phone did not know the name.

* Dec. 24, 8:58 p.m.: Police were called to a home on Forest Street in reference to an assault complaint. Police spoke with two men who were brothers-in-law and learned they were in a pushing match. One brother-in-law agreed to leave and not return. There were no charges pursued from either side and no further action was taken. Three days later one of the men contacted police and stated he wished to pursue charges.

* Dec. 26, 2:24 a.m.: Jessie Williams of Wellington was arrested on a Wakeman Police Department warrant. Williams was turned over to Wakeman.

* Dec. 26, 11:42 a.m.: James Moore of Wellington was charged with possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia. Moore was transported to the County Jail.

* Dec. 28, 1:55 p.m.: Abdul A. Mallory of Columbus was cited for driving 48 MPH in a 35 MPH zone and driving under suspension. He was released with a pending court date.

* Dec. 31, 2:13 p.m.: A man said that while his vehicle was parked at Marts Place someone took $5 to $6 in change and two pairs of prescription sunglasses. It was noted the vehicle was left unlocked.

* Dec. 31, 5:43 p.m.: A husband informed that he and his wife were going through a divorce and that she is harassing him by telephone. Officer Smosny contacted the wife and advised her to stop calling the man.
