Police Blotter for Dec. 8

* Nov. 14, 2:48 a.m.: Due to performing poorly on all field sobriety tests, Lanea M. Gaydos of Homerville was transported to the WPD. Gaydos refused to sign a waiver of rights form as well as providing a breath sample to the BAC Test. She was released after signing a personal recognizance for the sum of $1,130. It was also noted Gaydos was not able to produce her driver's license, registration and proof of insurance.

* Nov. 14, 1:13 p.m.: Officer Provoznik was dispatched to an East Herrick residence in reference to a stolen stroller. A canvas of the area located the stroller which was then returned to the owner. This case is still pending due to the missing contents of the stroller.

* Nov. 14, 4:09 p.m.: Officer Smosny was dispatched to the Oberlin Police Department in reference to serving a warrant. Mark R. Chambers of Oberlin was served his warrant and then transported to the Lorain County Correctional Facility to await his court date or posting of bond.

* Nov. 17, 7:04 p.m.: Sgt. Bryant met with a woman who questioned the officer on how her husband could have found out there was a warrant for his arrest and why he wasn't arrested. The woman said she had contacted the Oberlin Police Department about her husband possibly violating his temporary protection order on two occasions. It was noted the husband was charged with violating a protection order on Nov. 2 through the Oberlin Municipal Court. A report will be forwarded to the prosecutor for review.

* Nov. 18, 3:45 p.m.: Officer Shelton was dispatched to a Lincoln Street residence in reference to a child hit by a vehicle while riding her bike. The officer made contact with the father who said that while his daughter was crossing the street by Dimitri's a vehicle came to the crosswalk and failed to stop for her. The vehicle struck the back tire bending the rim of the bike. His daughter was not knocked off the bike and apparently there were no witnesses due to no one calling to report it.

* Nov. 18, 12:08 p.m.: Officer Shelton met with a woman who said her set of keys were either misplaced or stolen from her boyfriend's residence. She further advised they were left on the kitchen table and that her boyfriend's sister had friends over.

* Nov. 20, 1:09 a.m.: Frank A. Burns of Oberlin was charged with driving under an FRA suspension and was given a personal recognizance bond in the amount of $1,000.

* Nov. 21, 3:03 a.m.: Alicia A. Bruck of Wellington was cited for expired license plates and invalid plates.

* Nov. 23, 1:12 a.m.: Jeffrey D. Brooks of Wellington was cited for FRA DUS first offense. He signed a personal recognizance bond for $1,000. His vehicle was turned over to his passenger who has a valid driver's license.

* Nov. 23, 9:40 a.m.: A father and son reported to police about items they found buried behind the Wellington wastewater plant. The items (clothing, makeup, photos and jewelry) were located, appeared to belong to a female and had been buried for quite some time. The female in the photo was identified, tracked down and questioned. She advised that prior to the arrest of Charlie Roberts for hiding her and her friend in 1999 Roberts buried the items.

* Nov. 25, 2:17 p.m.: Elijah J. Fairley of Lorain was issued a citation for FRA DUS. Fairley's vehicle was turned over to his passenger who was checked and found to have a valid driver's license.

* Nov. 26, 4:58 a.m.: Officer Poling found a deserted bike in the area of Parkside Reserve. The bike will be placed into the property room pending contact with its owner.

* Nov. 27, 4:16 p.m.: Officer Carter responded to the back parking lot of Harrison Ford on the report of a sick raccoon. The raccoon was located behind the building and was taken to the field where it was put down.

* Nov. 27, 9:53 p.m.: Police were dispatched to the Mosey Inn in reference to an assault. Jeffrey Buri of Wellington was charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct, intoxication, persisting. He was given a court date, a bond in the amount of $1,500 and was transported to the Lorain County Jail. Ricky L. Schubert of Wellington was charged with assault and OVI.

* Nov. 29, 1:41 a.m.: A man brought a wallet containing $14 in cash, various cards and a driver's license to the station. A failed attempt was made to the owner of the wallet therefore it was tagged and placed into an evidence locker.

* Nov. 30, 10:21 a.m.: A woman met with Officer Poling in reference to the vandalism of her vehicle. She advised that while the vehicle was parked in her driveway, the vehicle has been scratched, the emblem on the trunk pulled off, the rear license plate bent upward, dents, flat tire, and the emergency brakes were partially engaged. Pictures of the damages were taken and a statement was filled out which will be included with the report.
