Police Blotter for Jan. 26
* Jan 1, 3:55 a.m.: Police were dispatched to a South Main Street residence in reference to a burglary in progress. Upon arrival police located a man at the front door trying to get in. When asked what the man was doing he stated he was at his daughter's house and was trying to get in to go to bed. The man was advised his daughter's house was a block east. The man was noted to be intoxicated and was transported to his daughter's home where he was left with a family member.
* Jan 5, 1:24 p.m.: Police responded to McCormick Junior High School in reference to writing on the girls restroom wall stating "bomb in art." The school was cleared of students and staff and the art room and surrounding area were checked, finding nothing out of the ordinary.
* Jan. 7, 12:07 a.m.: Ronnah Taylor of LaGrange was charged with theft. Taylor was fingerprinted, photographed and released with a personal recognizance of $1,000.
* Jan. 7, 3:49 a.m.: Police were dispatched to a Jones Road apartment in reference to a domestic dispute. While enroute police were advised the woman's boyfriend had slapped, choked and pulled her hair and she was now at her neighbors. Police spoke with the boyfriend who advised that he did not touch his girlfriend; police also spoke with a witness who advised the couple did argue but there was no violence. The girlfriend was advised to stay the night with a friend.
* Jan. 8, 6:04 p.m.: A mother contacted the WPD and informed Officer A. Aviles that her 15-year-old daughter advised that she was going to "hang with some friends." The mother stated she was grounded and had to stay home but when she arrived home her daughter was not there and could not be reached by phone. The officer located the juvenile at a North Main Street residence and she was transported to the WPD where she was released to her mother.
