Allan D. Lamb
Allan D. Lamb, 86, died Friday, Jan. 15, 2010 at the Elms Retirement Village.
He was the son of Glenn and Catherine Lamb and was born on Sept. 9, 1923 in Richwood, Ohio. He was a longtime resident of Huntington Township, a farmer, and also worked many years as a machinist at Lear Siegler in Elyria. A gun hobbyist, he loved trap shooting and gun shows. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wellington.
Mr. Lamb leaves behind his wife of 65 years, Elaine; three children, Judith Ann (companion Bob Kurtz) Handley of Lorain, Linda Kay (Dana) Roberts of Universal City, Texas, and Bob (Becky) Lamb of Huntington; nine grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his foster sister, Patsy Lamb Welch and cousin, Jo Ann Highman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Glenn Shelby Lamb.
A memorial service was held Monday, Jan. 18, 2010, at First Baptist Church of Wellington, 125 Grand Ave., with Rev. Philip Jewett and Rev. Thomas Alexander officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mr. Lamb may be directed to the church.
