Thanks for filling our kettles

To the editor:

Once again Wellington has show its generosity in contributing to our Salvation Army Kettle Campaign. We know many residents gave this season. Thirteen thousand dollars was donated in our kettles and through the mail. However, we do need a minimum of $20,000 to meet the needs of our clients for 2010. Additional donations can be mailed to our office at 181 E. Herrick Ave., Wellington, Ohio 44090.

This season a total of 438 hours was volunteered at Village Market, Geyer's, Farm & Home, and Oberlin Wal-Mart. We give a personal thank you to all the 32 individuals, seven new volunteers, Boy Scout Troop #414; several churches, Wellington First Methodist Church, Wellington Congregational United Church of Christ, Brighton Methodist and Brighton Congregational; two youth groups, Kiwanis and Axtion Club; Visual Prod. employees and seven Wellington High School clubs.

We're also grateful to locations which displayed our Angel Trees resulting in 81 children receiving Christmas gifts.

Last, thanks go out to Dan Gossman, our treasurer; SLCAD for providing our office space; WGLB Cable for free cable and airing our articles; and Dan Trinter for providing our May window display each year.

Please join us in prayer for an improved economy in 2010.
