Lorain County Joint Ambulance District At-A-Glance
At the Jan. 12 organizational meeting of the South Lorain County Ambulance District (members present Glenn Ziegler, Brighton Township; Robert Holmes, Huntington Township; Lloyd Gordon, Penfield Township; Robert Schatz, Rochester Township; Virginia Haynes, Wellington Township; Michele Elbon, Rochester Village; and Steve Maurer, Wellington Village), the trustees:
* Elect Virginia Haynes president and Robert Holmes vice president of the SLCAD board of trustees for 2010.
* Voted to re-employ Amy Szmania as clerk, Pat Wilkinson as executive director, Mary Lou Brasee as assistant director and Dr. Kim Bowen as medical director of SLCAD for 2010.
* Approved appointments to the following board committees for 2010: audit/finance: Glenn Ziegler, Steve Maurer, Robert Holmes and Amy Szmania; personnel: Virginia Haynes, Robert Holmes, Steve Maurer and Pat Wilkinson; building and equipment: William Spicer, Lloyd Gordon, Robert Schatz, Chris Johnson and Robert Leonard. Records commission includes Amy Szmania, Pat Wilkinson, Mary Lou Brasee, William Spicer and Robert Schatz.
* Established the second Tuesday of each month during 2010 at 7 p.m. in the district office at 179 E. Herrick Ave. for the SLCAD board meetings.
At the Jan. 12 regular meeting of the South Lorain County Ambulance District (members present Glenn Ziegler, Brighton Township; Robert Holmes, Huntington Township; Lloyd Gordon, Penfield Township; Robert Schatz, Rochester Township; Virginia Haynes, Wellington Township; Michele Elbon, Rochester Village; and Steve Maurer, Wellington Village), the trustees:
* Approved the Dec. 8 and 28 meeting minutes.
* Approved the monthly financial reports for December 2009 and the analysis trend report.
* Approved payment of $69,437.51 of bills and expenses.
* Heard Wilkinson report the district made 84 runs during the month of December with 1,079 miles covered.
* Heard the Chevy ambulance door will be repaired.
* Voted to continue the EAP contract with Nord for 2010.
* Heard everyone has been trained on Easy I-O and King Air Way.
* Heard the Ohio Billing issue of older outstanding accounts will be reviewed by the finance committee.
* Recognized Jarvis Babcock for 28 years of dedicated public service to the residents of the SLCAD in his role as board trustee representing Rochester Township.
* Voted to authorize payment of class fees and supplies for the clerk to take a QuickBooks payroll class not to exceed $150.
* Voted to continue with Wellington Village providing dispatch services at an annual fee of $6,000 for 2010.
