Lorain County Joint Ambulance District meeting At-A-Glance
At the Dec. 8 regular meeting of the South Lorain County Ambulance District (members present Glenn Ziegler, Brighton Township; Robert Holmes, Huntington Township; Lloyd Gordon, Penfield Township; Jarvis Babcock, Rochester Township; Virginia Haynes, Wellington Township; William Spicer, Rochester Village; and Steve Maurer, Wellington Village), the trustees:
* Approved reappropriations of $9,370.
* Approved the 2010 Physio Controls Life Pak maintenance agreement for $2,456.
* Approved the payment of $76,508.58 for bills and expenses.
* Heard Director Wilkinson report vehicle 954 had the paint fixed and Pfund did an alignment on it; and the Chevy ambulance is involved in an engine recall issue. The side entrance door was damaged as the ambulance was pulled out of the parking building. The estimate for repair is $506.20 and will be out of service for four to five days. Also reported Country House Doctor has completed the annual backflow testing on the two buildings; and the county has granted a three month reprieve on health insurance premiums.
* Approved to permit members of Rochester Volunteer Fire Department to ride along, observe and work within the scope of practice. Members must have medical malpractice liability and be covered under their own worker compensation by RVFD and sign a waiver of liability.
* Approved to appropriate up to $400 to fix the border in the conference room.
* Heard the district made a total of 90 runs during the month of November with 2,282 miles covered.
* Approved to renew insurance coverage with VFIS for the annual amount of $14,398.
* Approved the 2010 temporary appropriations in the amount of $521,117.
At the Dec. 28 regular meeting of the South Lorain County Ambulance District (members present Robert Holmes, Huntington Township; Lloyd Gordon, Penfield Township; Jarvis Babcock, Rochester Township; Virginia Haynes, Wellington Township; William Spicer, Rochester Village; and Steve Maurer, Wellington Village), the trustees:
* Approved the reappropriations of $8,275.
* Approved the payment of $29,829.57 for bills and expenses.
* Approved to pass along the health insurance three month holiday by not taking any health insurance premiums out of the full time employee's paychecks; January through March 2010.
* Approved Attorney Stepan to proceed accordingly in handling the current claim to protect the best interest of SLCAD.
