The seventh-seeded Dukes had trouble controlling Rittman’s Daniel Zuchak on Friday. He rolled up 21 points on the way to the Indians’ 59-47 Division III sectional finals victory, clinching a district berth and a chance against top-seeded Oberlin. Rittman opened cautiously but went on a 13-point tear to start the second quarter, setting up a lead the Dukes were unable to challenge. Wellington (14-9) had a weapon in Trey Bealer, who sweated his way to 19 points and the top of the Dukes leaderboard, but found little traction in the fourth quarter and trailed by double digits.
