The Pirates were held in check with just four points in the first quarter Saturday against their Patriot Athletic Conference rivals, the Firelands Falcons. But they had the last laugh, mounting a 28-10 comeback in the final period under the leadership of Erica Benson, who ended the game with 22 points. Emily Zumack scored 18 for the Black River girls. Tori Grasso was the Falcons’ team leader at 16, with Alexis Coggins putting up 13 points. The final score was 66-49, Pirates.
