BOYS BASKETBALL: Wildcats shut down Pirates, 58-34

The Patriot Athletic Conference’s top-ranked Keystone boys team shut out Black River on Friday, 58-34.

The Wildcats got off to a steady start, leading 17-11 after the first period and was able to break down the Pirates, holding them to only five points before halftime.

Up 30-16 going into the second half, Keystone applied pressure and allowed just five Black River points in the third quarter. A Pirates resurgence in the final period fell short.

Brody Kuhl led the way for the Wildcats with 23 points on the night. Keystone was able to hold Black River star Allan Benson to just 12 points.

Keystone improved to 13-1 in the PAC Stars Division and Black River fell to 3-10 in the conference.
