A 31-point first half Wednesday secured the Brookside Cardinals a 53-31 win over the Lady Dukes. Wellington was held to 12 points by halftime as it appeared Brookside could not miss. The Lady Dukes tried to battle back in the second half but only scored 19 points to the Cardinals’ 22.

Wellington’s Kaylie Goins, Hope Diermyer, and Sam Sparks combined for 19 points on the night. The girls will face the Kirtland Hornets in the Ohio High School Athletic Association Division III district tournament at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17 at Kirtland.
