To the editor:
Vendors and craft-lovers alike enjoyed the 34th annual Harvest of the Arts this Sunday. The Harvest is the major fundraiser for the Friends of the Herrick Memorial Library and all proceeds support library programming.
Like any event, the Harvest could not be a success without the dedicated volunteers who give selflessly of themselves to better their community. A big thank you goes out to all who helped by marking spaces, baking cookies, directing traffic, working at the cafe, manning the Friends table or cleaning up at the end. Your hard work was truly appreciated.
Thanks to the village of Wellington, the Wellington fire department, the Wellington police department, and the Southern Lorain County Ambulance District for their help and assistance. We are grateful for the support of Bremke Insurance, Brother’s Chevrolet, Doud’s Veterinary, E. L. Hatton Sales, Farm & Home Hardware, Fort’s Olde Town Tavern, French’s Building, Gizella’s Salon, King Realty, The Platinum Petal, Wellington Eagles, and Wellington VFW.
Congratulations to Tina Mickey, winner of the “Delectable Moutains” quilt that celebrated the 100th anniversary of the National Park Service. The Friends would like to recognize Elk Creek Honey Farm, Handmade Metal Art, Hooks Greenhouse, Linda Hatton, T&D Kettle Corn, Kay Dunbar and Sandy Johnson, Karen Vargarasoto, Quietly Quilting, “What a Hoot,” and Whoopsie Daisy Boutique for their raffle donations.
Thanks again to everyone involved with the Harvest of the Arts. We look forward to another wonderful show next year!
