Wine event proved to be a blast

To the editor:

Fort’s Tavern was a flurry of activity Saturday as the wine flowed at Main Street Wellington’s “Let’s Wine About Winter.”

I truly appreciate Stacey Barlow, the Fort’s staff, Eric from Heidelberg Wines, and Paige Landes for working effortlessly to serve everyone tastes of wine and delicious food. There are a few more invoices to collect, but I anticipate that the event raised four times what we expected!

Congratulations to Beth Hannon, who won the $400 www.bedandbreakfast.com gift certificate generously donated by Patti Young. There were 20 additional prize winners. Special Thanks to Samantha Stump from The Platinum Petal, who put together most of the beautiful prize baskets. We’ll have photos and a list of all prizes and winners on our website and Facebook very soon.

I also appreciate the following businesses that donated items and time to make the event a success: Allstate Insurance, A Glass Full of Class, Bliss Therapeutic Massage, Matus Winery, Preferred Care at Home, The Platinum Petal, Scarlet Transportation and Adventure Tours, Scrubs by Lisa, Special Effects Printing, The Tuck Shop, Urban Logic Apparel, Wellington Music, and William Belle Antiques.

Of course, I also appreciate the support of the Main Street Wellington board and events committee, plus Dan Gossman, Krista Nieding, mayor Hans Schneider and his wife Wendy Underwood for sparking the friendly raffle basket competition.

Ultimately, I’m excited at the number of people who came out to support Main Street Wellington, including Cathy Gabe, who covered the event for the Wellington Enterprise. The money raised will help us continue to provide services and events to the community.
