It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s a pumpkin

A homemade pumpkin catapult was a fundraising catalyst on Saturday for new books at Wellington’s First United Methodist Church. Don Snodgrass, a First UMC member, said he constructed the catapult himself and learned schematics by watching YouTube videos. Using an Olympic bench press par and roughly 100 pounds of iron as a counterweight, the finished product sent pumpkins flying across Dickson Street Park as a crowd watched and ate freshly made chili.
