Bell-ringers are needed to help with the Salvation Army’s 2017 “Red Kettle Campaign” in Wellington.
It will start Saturday, Nov. 18 and run through Saturday, Dec. 30 at three locations: Farm & Home Hardware, Apples, and Village Market.
Organizers hope to have volunteers at all three sites from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday, excluding Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.
There are two ways people can help out with this year’s campaign.
First, interested individuals, families, organizations, and school clubs can schedule a time to ring the bell by calling Bridget at 440-935-4963, leaving a message with Joyce at the Wellington office at 440-647-7600, or online at http://neo.salvationarmy.org/northeastohio/bell_ringer.
Second, you can consider making a donation when walking past a red kettle this Christmas season.
This year’s goal is $22,000 and all proceeds from the campaign stay in the 44090 zip code, helping local people who may need assistance with utility bills, propane, rent, transportation, medical, and other needs.
Some of the other programs the Salvation Army offers in the community are the Angel Tree, NEOSA summer camp for children ages six to 12, and card ministry for the senior citizens. The Salvation Army is a 501(c)3 charitable organization.
