Submissions to create a new village seal are now being accepted by Wellington officials as part of next year’s bicentennial celebration. Those wishing to participate in the contest can send their creations directly to mayor Hans Schneider at town hall or firstname.lastname@example.org. Make sure to format your seal in JPG or PDF form. Submitting your work also means forfeiting ownership of it to the village. Once entries begin to roll in, they will be shared on the village’s Facebook page with the winner chosen at a council meeting next year. The winning designer will receive a copy of the ordinance that adopts the new seal. Schneider said Wellington has used the Ohio state seal as long as he can remember.
