BLEACHERS: Light at the end of the tunnel

Jonathan Delozier | Wellington Enterprise

Workers were spotted assembling long-awaited permanent bleachers Monday at Wellington High School’s Dickson Street stadium. The structure cost just over $260,000 and will seat approximately 1,100 fans. The old wooden bleachers were condemned in late 2015 after a fan’s foot broke through a board during a game. Plans to receive used bleachers from North Olmsted High School fell through last summer when lead paint was discovered on Wellington’s support structure. Temporary seating was brought in last season, which was moved to the Dukes’ soccer field located behind WHS.
