Motorcyclist dies in airborne crash

Staff Report

A Hiram man was killed Sunday when his motorcycle ramped off a culvert and flew into several trees.

Robert Seneff, 23, was pronounced dead at the Lorain County Fairgrounds in Wellington, where medical personnel landed a LifeFlight helicopter.

The crash happened just after midnight on Rt. 18 west of Quarry Road in Brighton Township. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Seneff was heading east and rode his 2010 Honda VT1300CS off the right side of the highway.

The Honda hit a culvert, went airborne, and hit the trees. Seneff was thrown, state troopers said.

South Lorain County Ambulance paramedics rushed him to the fairgrounds to board the helicopter but Seneff didn’t make it.

A release by the OSHP said he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. It is unknown whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash, which remains under investigation.
