The Wellington Future Farmers of America chapter held its annual banquet May 12, recognizing many students who have taken part in chapter activities and CDEs.
The night started with a meal catered by Old Schoolhouse Catering. The 2016-2017 officers installed newly-elected officers for the 2017-2018 year. Wellington FFA’s newest officers are president Alex Fehlan, vice president Dylan Andolsek, secretary Savannah McKee, treasurer Hannah Downs, reporter Hailey Staffeld, student advisor MiKailah Godsey, sentinel Sarah Park, and historian Kinsey Grose.
STAR Greenhand is a first-year member who had the most participation points, STAR Chapter Degree is a second-year member who had the most points, and STAR Agri-Business Degree is a third- or fourth-member who had the most points.
STAR Greenhand was Savannah McKee (sophomore), STAR Chapter was Dylan Andolsek (sophomore), and STAR Agri-Business was Alex Fehlan (junior).
Outstanding members this year were the second place students with participation points. This year’s outstanding freshman was Kinsey Grose, outstanding sophomore was Hannah Downs, outstanding junior was Sarah Park, and outstanding senior was Miranda McDonnell.
There were also many scholarship awards given. Some of the awards were Dekalb Award, the Ninth-12th Grade Scholarship, as well as FT Price Jr. Scholarship. The award winners were Bailey Wise (senior), Jordan McKee (freshman), Savannah McKee (sophomore), Faith Alley (junior), and Jennifer Frombaugh (senior). The 110 Percent Award was given to Jennifer Frombaugh, sponsored by Ag Credit.
