The Lorain County JVS recently participated in the National Developmental Disabilities Employment Awareness Program, hosting several clients from the Murray Ridge Center’s office of supported employment. Career services specialist Bill Elliott worked with the individuals, assigning them to different job sites within the JVS including Sodexo Food Service, the Career Services Office, and the warehouse.

“This was an incredible experience for many of the people we work with to get real job experience and practice their social skills in a professional work environment,” said Carol Wallace, job placement specialist for the Murray Ridge Center. “We are so appreciative of the time and effort the JVS took to personally prepare and support each individual from our office; it means so much for them to be recognized for their interests and efforts.”
