Team Landry Cole has formed and raised $2,630 for the Wellington teenager who is fighting cancer and other complications.

The team was formed Dec. 29 after the Enterprise reported that the family is trying to purchase a $6,500 medical device called an iStat to monitor hormone blood levels.

Donations are coming in from people such as Brittany Maurer who donated $250 and wrote: “I can’t say that I know Landry, but she is a fellow Duke. I hope and pray she finds comfort and healing during this fight. She should know that her strength and determination is touching everyone’s hearts. Keep it up — you’re making a difference.”

Landry got sick last December. Since then, she’s had two major surgeries to remove tumors, lost her vision, and suffered a stroke.

Now she is dealing with an endocrine disorder, which is causing hormone levels to fluctuate and could put her at risk of seizures.

The medical device would allow her parents to monitor blood levels at home in hopes of keeping the 15-year-old out of the hospital and back in school.

Donations can be made at, at Fifth Third and Northwest Savings banks, or checks can be mailed to P.O. Box 405, Wellington, OH 44090-0405.
