GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY: Fred and Diane Stanley celebrate 50 years on Christmas

Fred and Diane Stanley of Wellington will observe their 50th wedding anniversary on Christmas Day.

The Rev. Samuel Terry officiated at a 2 p.m. ceremony at their Bennett Street residence on Dec. 25, 1965, with 50 guests in attendance.

Fred retired from supervision at Ford Motor Co. after 40 years of service. He is a 50-year member of the Wellington Masonic Lodge, past Master and past High Priest of the chapter. Fred is an Army veteran and a member of the local VFW and American Legion posts.

Diane owned an antiques shop for several years. She is past trustee of the Spirit of ‘76 Museum and portrays historic American women. She is past president and a member of Plum Creek Garden Club. She is a member of the Eleanor Roosevelt Club.

The couple has three children, Renee (Don) Wilson of Brewster, Shawn (at home), and Kathy (Todd) Passarell of Avon Lake; and four grandchildren, Avery and Alana of Avon Lake, and Dresden and Madeline of Brewster.

In addition to spending time with their grandchildren, the couple is active at First Congregational Church.

An anniversary trip to Europe is being planned.
