This week’s featured senior is Meghan McKnight, daughter of Ed and Maureen McKnight.
She is the woodwind squad leader in the marching band and plays lead tenor sax. She is also a member of the concert, pep, and jazz bands and has been the band’s secretary last year as well as this year’s band president.
McKnight’s most memorable band experience was receiving a “1” at state competition. She would recommend the band program because “it is a great way to meet new friends that will help and be with you to the very end! Being in band allows you to improve not only musically, but intellectually. I wouldn’t be where I am, who I am today without the band.”
In addition to band, McKnight is also a member of the girls’ basketball team, National Honor Society president, Drama Club, and PSEO. She plans to major in architecture and minor in interior design at the University of Cincinnati.
She would like to thank her parents for supporting her and her friends for sticking by her side, and band director Toni Novotny for helping her become a better musician.
