Crickets chirped and birds sang as I walked through Wellington’s Reservation Thursday afternoon. With camera in hand, I made a few pit-stops along the Lakeside Loop, one of five different trails featured at the Lorain County Metro Park. Despite Sept. 23 marking the first day of autumn, flowers were blooming and trees were still green and full of leaves. Other trails at the reservation include Killdeer Loop, Prairie Circle, Horse Trail, and Shared Trail. The 550 acre park was developed in 2005 and includes more than four miles of meandering trails, featuring wetlands and grassland prairies.
