Paul and Sharon (Fowler) Johnson are celebrating 50 years together today.

They met in Grand Rapids, Mich., where Paul was a college student and Sharon was John W. Peterson’s secretary. After numerous moves they moved to Wellington in 2011.

Through the years, Paul has been a pastor of churches in Iowa, Minnesota, and Ohio, a school bus driver, and a stockman at a local grocery. Sharon has spent the years being a homemaker and secretary, most recently at Baptist Mid-Mission. Both are retired and enjoying a more relaxed life. They are both very involved with their local church, First Baptist Church, Wellington. Paul enjoys volunteering with the hospice.

They have four children: Loretta, Timothy, Lynda, and Leona and spouses. They have four grandsons and three granddaughters. With their children, spouses, and five of their grandchildren they will enjoy a weekend together.
