Helen Louise Case
Helen Louise (Baird) Case, 93, of Wellington died Monday, Feb. 8, 2010 at the Elms Retirement Village.
Born Feb. 27, 1916 in Brighton, she was a life-long resident of Brighton Township where she and her husband managed a dairy and grain farm.
Mrs. Case was a long-time member of the Brighton Congregational Church, belonging to its women's fellowship group and Fireside Club. She was also a member of the Lorain County Farm Bureau and former member of the National Needlecraft Guild and Brighton Needlecraft Club. She enjoyed all kinds of needlework, especially counted cross stitch and needlepoint. She had a love for all music, particularly playing piano and organ. She would often be seen outside doing yard work and mowing the lawn.
Survivors include a daughter, Marilyn (Joseph) Siekeres of Henrietta Township and a son, Larry (Lori) Case of Massillon; grandsons, Martin and Michael McClellan, both of Wellington; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Case of Lakewood; three step-grandchildren, Kyle, Matt and Trisha and two great-grandsons, Mason and Luke McClellan.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Robert E. Case; son, Theodore; her parents, Albert and Mary (Nestor) Baird and sisters, Ruth Shays, Mary Baird and Etta Baird.
Visitation was held on Feb. 12 at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home in Wellington. Friends were also received on Saturday at the Brighton Congregational Church, 22086 State Route 511. Rev. John Burgess officiated the service and burial followed at Brighton Cemetery.
