Chocolate Walk sweet success
To the editor:
In spite of Mother Nature's blast, Main Street Wellington's Winter Weekend Chocolate Walk appeared to be a hit with the brave souls who came out to wander the Wellington Downtown Business District on Saturday, Feb. 6. Customers reported they had a wonderful time visiting local businesses and collecting their chocolate treats and believed the event was a great idea to help promote downtown shopping during the winter. It is our hope that sponsoring such an event during the winter months will help downtown Wellington businesses become more visible to the public during an admittedly slow season.
Main Street Wellington is grateful to the many businesses who enthusiastically participated in the Chocolate Walk, to the staff and volunteers of Herrick Library for organizing the town hall movie, and to Bob Box and the employees of Wellington Public Works Department for a superb job of clearing streets, sidewalks, and parking lots. We look forward to organizing a similar event next winter, with a sincere hope for better weather.
