Jordans celebrate 50th anniversary
On Saturday, Sept. 5, 1959, Maxine (Pitts) and Lawrence "Butch" Jordan, Jr., were united in marriage at the First Congregational Church in Wellington.
This union gave them four children: Jackie Irene Riley of North Royalton, Rex Allen of Lorain, Timothy John (deceased), and Bruce Frederick, who resides at the old homestead in Wellington. Their kids decided the couple needed grandchildren so they gave them 10 at last count of which two reside in Germany.
Mr. Jordan retired from the Lorain Ford Assembly plant in 1998 with 40 years to his credit. Mrs. Jordan was a self-employed bookkeeper and tax preparer for more than 35 years.
They both enjoy collecting Pepsi and John Deere collectibles, while traveling to flea markets and shows.
They have been enjoying retirement in Pahrump, Nev., for the past 11 years. Their retirement is working full-time for Mrs. Jordan as phone book coordinator for the Pahrump Valley Times, while Mr. Jordan delivers papers for the same paper to the area around Pahrump.
Cards would be appreciated, so they may keep track of their friends in Ohio. They can be sent to 821 S. Luella Ct., Pahrump, Nev., 89048.
